SATELLITE SITES

Each year approximately 50,000 hot lunches a year are served to senior’s weekdays at one of the eight Senior Action Satellite Sites located throughout the Greenville community. 

The program serves any person 60 years of age or older at no charge, though donations are kindly accepted and needed to continue to help meet costs and maintain services adequately. 

The nutrition sites (formerly congregate Satellite Sites) are designed to help seniors who are not homebound, but may have difficult making well-balanced meals for themselves due to physical problems, financial hardships, or depression and lack of interest in taking care of themselves.  It is also a wonderful opportunity for seniors to meet and socialize, participate in health and wellness programs, and informational lectures and seminars, and participate in activities designed specifically for them. 

Approximately 200 seniors are serviced through our nutritional lunch program each weekday. 

Reservations are requested 24 hours in advance and transportation is available in certain areas.  Please contact the site closest to you and find out more about our Senior Action Satellite Sites or you can contact the Orchard Park Center at 864-467-3660 and request more information from our Services Director.

Satellite Sites operate from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and provide nutritional lunch along with social activities, health and wellness programs, health screenings, exercise, etc.
